Richard’s journey in aviation began with humble beginnings in the United States Marine Corps in 1981. Serving with distinction, he quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership and technical acumen as a Maintenance Control Assistant overseeing a fleet of F-4 Phantoms. His tenure in the Marines instilled in him the values of discipline, precision, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring aircraft readiness at all times.

In pursuit of his passion for aviation, Richard pursued formal education at Parks College of Aeronautics where he obtained an A&P license and an Aerospace Engineering Degree. His academic achievements were complimented by his leadership roles as President of the AEX Veterans Fraternity and consistent recognition on the dean’s list.

Richard’s professional journey led him through various esteemed organizations, each contributing to his vast experience and expertise in aircraft maintenance and management. From his tenure at Midcoast Aviation in St. Louis, MO, to Avtec Aviation and Bizjet International, Richard honed his skills as a Gulfstream/Falcon Jet program manager, overseeing complex maintenance projects and managing large teams with precision and efficiency.

In 2000, Richard’s journey brought him to Genera Dynamics Aviation Services/Gulfstream Aerospace, where he served as Senior Maintenance/Structural Tech Rep and Director of Structural Modifications. His leadership played a pivotal role in managing sales and maintenance operations, ensuring workflow optimization, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

In 2005, Richard’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for excellence culminated in the founding of Florida Aviation Technical, LLC (FAT). A President and CEO, Richard spearheaded the company’s growth and expansion, establishing FAT as a trusted name in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. Under his leadership, FAT has earned a reputation for delivering on-time, on-budget Gulfstream repairs and modifications, garnering acclaim and recognition on a global scale.

Richard’s commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident in his extensive maintenance schools attended, covering a wide range of aircraft models and systems. His dedication to staying the forefront of industry advancements and best practices underscores his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Beyond his role at FAT, Richard is a visionary leader with a global perspective, driving expansion initiatives into Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His strategic vision and leadership have led to the formation of Florida Space Coast Aircraft Sales, Inc., facilitating aircraft sales and humanitarian relief operations on an international scale.
